BBYO and Brandeis University have teamed up to create a dynamic 12 day summer experience focused on the Jewish Values associated with Social Justice, Community Service, and Advocacy through hands on experience throughout the Boston area, and high level quality educational pieces developed through Brandeis for this program that helps frame their experiences in a Jewish context. Project Impact participants will gain substantial community service hours, while going beyond service to address some of the key issues and underserved populations in urban Boston. Project Impact teens develop skills that will enable them to continue working on social justice issues, community organizing, and advocacy in their home communities. Participants will be housed at Brandeis University, providing them a real taste of campus life, and a chance to hear from students and university leaders about gaining admission to a top college and making smart college choices. Brandeis? commitment to social justice and advocacy makes it the ideal partner for Project Impact. The program also takes advantage of social, cultural and recreational resources in Boston. Teens come away with close friendships and empowered to make a difference in the world.Requirements / EligibilityAll applicants for Impact Boston at Brandeis University are required to answer ONE of the following questions.
