2010 BBYO Winter Basketball League League begins Sunday, January 10 MJCCA Zaban Park Mendel, Marcus, and Blank Gymnasiums Games are played every Sunday and begin at 7 pm, 8 pm, and 9 pm Cost: $800 per team Registration open to BBYO Members Only BBYO Winter Basketball League is a great chance for you to show off your sports skills and show the other chapters who has more chapter spirit! Deadline to register for basketball: November 19 Please note: we will not be able to accomodate late registration. How do I register? Chapters create their team roster by recruiting members of their chapter! Everyone is welcome and encouraged to play! AZA chapters have two leagues, an "A" league and a "B" league. "A" and "B" leagues are typically done by age group and not skill. BBG has one league. Please contact your president if you are interested in being on a team! How is the Basketball League run? BBYO Winter Basketball League, just like any other BBYO Event is teen-led and staff-run. This means, during basketball season teens have certain responsibilities to recruit participants and maintain communication with their team and adult coach, while the staff run logistics of the league. We do our best to notify teams of forfeits if we know in advance but do not always have that information. How do I receive the schedule? Schedule to be determined and distributed in December by email. Schedule will be posted on the MJCCA Website in December. Other Important Information: All chapters are required to have an adult coach (over the age of 21) and a team captain (please see responsibilities of each below). If you are interested in being an adult coach, please contact Samantha Walsh, swalsh@bbyo.org. Team captains or a chapter executive board member will be responsible for recruiting members to join their basketball team(s) and collecting money. Each chapter will be sending out emails and calling participants to join. The emails will provide the appropriate information on how to join a team. The office does not take RSVPs for individual teams. It is the responsibility of the team captain and adult coach to make reminder phone calls or send reminder emails to their team and ensure they will have enough players to play for each game. Please contact the BBYO Office if you have questions: 678.812.3970 or bbyo@atlantajcc.org.ZION AZA #983 PCR #43 Weekly Meeting
